Master of Arts
Master of Arts
General offers a Master of Arts degree that is designed for students exercising or preparing for lay ministries in the church and for those who wish to bring a theological perspective to daily life and work. Candidates for the program must articulate a clear vision of their goals for study and for how General's program will enable them to meet those goals.
Six formal concentrations are offered (click for more information):
- Anglican Studies
- Ascetical Theology
- Biblical Studies
- Congregational Development
- Historical and Theological Studies and
- Spiritual Direction
Other concentrations may be possible with the consent of the Academic Affairs Committee and the individual faculty involved.
Students may be awarded the degree of Master of Arts with Honors. Students maintaining an overall grade point average of at least A-(3.67) are eligible to write a thesis, for 3-credits. Honors are conferred if the Faculty Advisor and second Faculty reader assess the thesis as meriting honors.
