CCS Academic Programs

Certificate of Study in Spiritual Direction. Designed for students who desire education and formation specifically for ministries of Spiritual Direction; 18 credits. Requirements comprise a foundational academic course in Ascetical Theology (3 credits), practicum courses in Spiritual Direction (12 credits) and supervision courses (3 credits). Available to M. Div. students concurrent with their degree program.

Certificate of Study in the Spiritual Guidance of Children. Designed for students who desire education and formation for ministries of spiritual guidance with children; 18 credits. Available to M. Div. students concurrent with their degree program.

Certificate of Study in Ascetical Theology. Designed for students who wish to pursue academic study of Christian spirituality; 18 credits.

Master of Arts in Spiritual Direction. Designed for students who seek education and formation for ministries in Spiritual Direction as well as foundational seminary education in the major theological academic fields; 45 credits.

Master of Arts in Ascetical Theology. Designed for students who wish to pursue academic study of Christian spirituality as well as foundational seminary education in other major theological academic fields; 45 credits.

Master of Sacred Theology in Spiritual Direction. Designed for students who have earned a first theological degree and who seek both preparation for ministries of Spiritual Direction and further academic study or research; 24 credits.

Master of Sacred Theology in Ascetical Theology. Designed for students who have earned a first theological degree and wish to focus on research or additional coursework in the academic study of Christian spirituality; 24 credits. Students who pursue this degree often go on to doctoral level work in Ascetical Theology.
