Are you a member of the clergy wondering whether the social media revolution has passed by your parish? Or perhaps a vestry person wondering if just "being on Facebook" is enough?
On Tuesday, October 25, 3:00-5:00 p.m., GTS's resident student experts on cyber-communications, Colin Chapman and Joseph Mathews, will conduct a workshop to explore the exciting ways the Church is using social media to reach the world.
Part I will deal with what social media are, including the phenomenal influence sites like Facebook are having in daily life–and how they are dramatically changing society.
Part II examines how and why the Church should be involved in social media as it seeks to restore all people to unity with God and one another by making disciples in an ever-changing world.
This workshop is open to all and will be an opportunity for lay and clergy to gain insight on how social media might be incorporated into the mission of the Church. Please plan to come to General Seminary at 440 W. 21st Street for this informative workshop. Location: Sherred 1B
