GTS welcomes Jonathan Silver as our new Director of Development. He brings us 25 years of diverse development experience in the NYC community. Jonathan comes to us from the Migraine Research Foundation where he planned and implemented all aspects of their fundraising strategy, focused particularly on branding and corporate story-telling to develop institutional support, broaden the scope of the individual donor base, and establish a social media presence.
After many years in the entertainment industry and business development, he embarked on a career in philanthropy in the aftermath of 9/11. He joined the Leary Firefighters Foundation, a non-profit founded by actor Denis Leary dedicated to supporting emergency responders. In his eight years as Deputy Executive Director, he developed and executed fundraising strategies, including the cultivation of their individual donor base and the creation of high profile fundraising events. Successful programs under his administration included design, development, and deployment of a state-of-the-art Mobile Command Center for the FDNY, the addition of a $4.5 million High-Rise Training Facility at the FDNY’s Randall’s Island Training Academy, and the restoration of eleven New Orleans firehouses destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Jonathan has an education in storytelling, cultural and religious studies, and public policy. He is very excited to bring his skills and passion to the future growth of GTS and the Plan to Choose Life, and we are delighted to have him on the team.
His office is the the basement of the Seabury Building in the Institutional Advancement offices and can be reached at ext. 404 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
