Mary Joseph Bacheller, Pastor of the Hands for Christ Community Church, Staten Island, NY, a planted church to serve the Deaf Community, whose mission is to unite people to Jesus via the gospel through devoted hands. Ms. Bacheller is a trilingual interpreter who has been teaching American Sign Language and training interpreters since 1979. She has also worked with Educational Testing Service developing the groundwork for ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview), which accesses student’s level of ASL when entering or exiting the classroom.
