The General Theological Seminary will have a major presence this summer at General Convention, the triennial meeting of The Episcopal's Church's legislative body, to be held July 5-12, 2012, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Beginning July 2, GTS leaders, trustees, faculty, and students will host GTS special events and booths, greet deputies and alumni/ae, and help tell the wider Episcopal Church about the seminary.

GTS will have not one, but two booths in General Convention's exhibition hall.

Booth #319 will be a gathering place where visitors can meet GTS leaders and learn about the seminary. Prospective students, for example, can speak with William Webster, the Director of Admissions, as well as current students. Alumni/ae will be able to greet Donna Ashley and Jonathan Silver, whose work in the seminary's Institutional Advancement office includes keeping up to date with alumni/ae.

Behind this gathering place will be Booth #418, dedicated to GTS Digital Formation, the seminary's initiative as an e-seminary for the 21st century. The booth will feature the seminary's new technology for distributive learning and connection-making. Booth #418 will also offer special QR code name badge stickers, a glimpse into new educational webinars, and present beautiful videos of life, ministry and learning at GTS. Here, too, guests will be able to discuss the seminary's ideas about how social media and digital technology can be responsible and effective tools for communicating the gospel.

As a special offering at Booth #418, GTS faculty will offer live, lunchtime presentations via video conference at 1:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged come greet their once or future teachers! Click here to get the schedule of speakers.
