Chaplain Reho Publishes on "Body" Discipleship

The Rev. Dr. James Reho, the seminary's chaplain, offers insight into discipleship when a master spiritual teacher dies in his article "In the Absence of the Body: Discipleship When the Guru Has Gone," published in the current issue of 

Parabola: Where Spiritual Traditions Meet

 (V. 37, No. 3, Fall 2012, pp. 76-83). The article compares the responses to the absence of the Teacher of two groups of disciples from different faith traditions, the early disciples of Jesus and modern-day disciples of Neem Karoli Baba, a Hindu guru who died in 1973. Both groups, Reho observes, continue the tradition and practice through an expanding understanding and experience of the "body" of the Teacher. The
