Tai Chi, Qigong, and Embodied Spirituality
When: Thursday, Oct. 4, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Where: Seabury Auditorium
Learn about the ancient arts of Tai Chi and Qigong, and how they can be part of your wellness practice! Tai Chi, sometimes described as "meditation in motion," is a stylized "dance" whose gentle movements promote serenity--bringing mind, body and breath into the present moment. Qigong, literally "Life-energy Cultivation," aligns breath, movement, and awareness in exercises aimed at healing and meditation.
Patty de Llosa has been teaching Tai Chi, which she learned from Master T.T. Liang, for 40 years. A writer and Alexander teacher who lives in New York City, she is author of The Practice of Presence: Five Paths for Daily Life (Morning Light Press, 2006) and is Contributing Editor of Parabola Magazine.
