A New Book from the Rev. Dr. Peter-Ben Smit, '11

Congratulations to The Rev. Dr. Peter-Ben Smit, Th.D.,Class of 2011, on the publication of “Tradition in Dialogue: The Understanding of Tradition in the International Bilateral Dialogues of the Anglican Communion”. The book is the culmination of study Prof. Smit began as the dissertation for his Th.D. at GTS, under the principal supervision of our Prof. J. Robert Wright. In this profound study, Prof. Smit explores how ways have been found to reconcile seemingly different understandings of ‘tradition’ and its articulation in the present through the international bilateral dialogues of the Anglican Communion.

Smit is professor for structures of the early church, as well as the history and doctrine of Old Catholicism at Utrecht University, assistant professor of New Testament at VU University Amsterdam, and assistant priest of the Old Catholic parish of Amsterdam.
