Community Council Elections

List of Nominees for all positions Tuesday, October 16, is the election for the 2012-2013 Community Council. It will take place from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the Close Room. The election results will be announced at the community dinner that evening. You have the opportunity to vote for the nominees for President & Vice President. The Senior Class will also have the opportunity to vote for their class representative. All of the other nominees are running uncontested.

All members of the Community (Students, Spartners, Staff, Faculty, Staff, etc) are eligible to vote once. According to the GTS Community Council By-laws, "All members of the constituencies designated in Article II, Section 1a who are eighteen years of age or older shall be entitled to cast a vote for any and all constituencies to which they belong."

We are in need of volunteers to work the polls on election day. The volunteer shifts are 1-hour shifts and can not be worked by those in a contested election (President, Vice President, Senior Class Rep). Please sign-up on the sheet, which can be found on the Community Council bulletin board in the mailroom, to cover a shift or two.

Attached is a copy of the Community Council 2012-13 Nominee Booklet. This includes a list of the nominees and a Q&A for/by the nominees for President & Vice President. The three questions asked were: 1. How have your past experiences helped to prepare you to take on this position?  2. In your opinion, what is the greatest challenge facing GTS right now and why? How would you try to facilitate handling this challenge? and 3. If you were to describe your role to someone brand new to the GTS Community, what would you say and why?

Absentee ballots must be requested, by email, to the election manager no later than Wednesday, October 10, 2012 and returned by Monday, October 15, 2012.
