Our next Inter-Seminary Dialogue (ISD) will be held this coming Wednesday, October 24th from 7 - 9:00 pm at Union Theological Seminary. All students who have an interest in interesting discussions with other seminarians are welcome and encouraged to attend. No reservations are necessary. We will meet at the 21st Street gate at 6:15 pm and walk to 7th Avenue to take the "1" train uptown to 116th Street. Union is just up the street on the other side from the Subway exit. Light refreshments will be served and good conversation is guaranteed.
ISD meets generally one evening each month during the school year at one of the local seminaries. A few of these are St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary, St. Joseph’s Catholic Seminary, Academy of Jewish Religion, Jewish Theological Seminary, Hebrew Union Seminary, Union Theological Seminary and General Theological Seminary. There are no membership requirements, we simply come together with others who are interested in a dialogue about common interests.
The next ISD will be at the Academy of Jewish Religion in Yonkers on Monday, November 5th. Since this seminary is not so easily reached by public transportation, we will ask for commitments ahead of time in order to try to provide some transportation. More about this in a couple of weeks.
GTS will host the ISD meeting in February this year.
Walt Kindergan is the student coordinator here at General and Professor Bob Owens is the faculty advisor to the group.
