Oktoberfest and Hymn Sing at St. Mary the Virgin

OKTOBERFEST & HYMN SING 2012 Our annual Oktoberfest and Hymn Sing is on Saturday, October 13, 6:00-9:00 pm. Dinner is potluck. Please contact Grace Bruni (jgracie@gmail.com) or Father Smith (jrsmith@stmvnyc.org) if you think you might be able to bring a dish to share. Beverages will be provided. Invite a friend!  All are welcome!

...but of course you are not obliged to bring anything but your smiling faces!  Those with dietary preferences can certainly bring their own, either prepared or easily reheatable, there is plenty of beer on tap compliments of parishioner Richard Theilman (yes, I said on tap!) as well as bottled beverages and soft drinks, but one can bring all manner of beverages to share too!

Notice how it's called Oktoberfest and Hymn Sing?  That's because after we've eaten we all file up to the organ loft, with a pre-printed hymn sheet, and join each other in singing selections from said hymn sheet!  It's been going on for more than 5 years now and it's a hoot!

Saint Mary the Virgin is located on West 46th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues (between Times Square and 6th Avenue) on the North side of the street and is easily accessible by taking the E from 23rd uptown to 42nd and walking North to the 44th Street exit and walking across to Times Square and up to 46th Street.
