The Rev. Canon Edward August Wisbauer, Jr. (Class of 1958) died at home in Setaucket, New York, on January 2, 2013 at the age of 83. Wisbauer was a retired member of the clergy within the Diocese of Long Island and was Chief of Chaplains for the Suffolk County Police Dept.
Shortly after his ordination to the priesthood in 1958, Canon Wisbauer was called as rector at St. Mary's, Lake Ronkonkoma and served this parish up to his retirement in 1996. Additionally, he acted as Archdeacon of Suffolk from 1981 to 1988 and Dean of North Suffolk from 1979 to 1981. He had served the Suffolk community as a Chaplain to the County Police since 1965.
After retirement, Canon Wisbauer continued to serve the diocese as Canon Pastor at St. John's, Huntington from 1997-2002 and as a long-term supply priest to St. Andrew's Church in Yaphank since 2008.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Rydzeski, Jane Lauria, Sally Ruscito and Mary Pepe and eleven grandchildren.
