The General Theological Seminary will join with her Jewish brothers and sisters in remembering victims of the Holocaust and other acts of genocide on April 7th at 8pm. Members of the seminary and broader community are invited to participate in a contemplative Yom Hashoah service in the Oratory (3rd floor of Sherred Hall). This simple, meaningful service has been intentionally designed in such a way that participants may be able to recreate or re-envision similar Yom Hashoah services in their own faith communities. It is our hope that in remembering together on April 7th, we may be able to remember with others in the years to come.

On April 8th at 10am, the chapel bells will toll for 2 minutes. During the tolling of the bells, we invite the seminary community and the Chelsea community to pause and remember victims of the Holocaust and other acts of genocide. We will ring our bells in solidarity with the people of Israel who sound sirens for two minutes at 10am on Yom Hashoah. The entire country stops for 2 minutes to pay silent tribute to the dead. We pause and remember with them.
