Beyond the Close: Christians and Jews in Dialogue about the Revised Common Lectionary

Wrestling with Tradition: Christians and Jews in Dialogue about the Revised Common Lectionary FROM THE BEGINNING, Christians have struggled to understand the nature of their faith and identity in light of God's ongoing covenant with the Jewish people. The Scriptures of the New Testament record this struggle. In recent years, particular interpretive questions have surfaced about descriptions of Judaism and “the Jews” in the Gospels and Acts. These questions, of course, become crucial during the Christian observance of Holy Week. This event brings together Jewish and Christian leaders to discuss these issues raised in the appointed readings of the Revised Common Lectionary.
