Easter Egg Hunt Brings Neighbors Together

Easter Sunday saw the revival of a General Theological Seminary tradition: a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt on the Close. This year’s hunt was spearheaded by Junior Tommie Lee Watkins (Diocese of Alabama), with support from the Community Council and Miguel Acevedos, director of the nonprofit organization, Fulton Youth for the Future. The event began on the Saturday before Easter when seminarians, faculty, seminary children, and neighborhood families gathered in the student lounge to fill plastic eggs with candy. On Sunday afternoon, 700 eggs were hidden on the grounds as seminary families as well as children from the Children’s Garden Preschool and the Chelsea neighborhood were welcomed onto the Close for an afternoon of excitement and relaxation.
