A New Call for Chip Connelly '07

Charles Evans Connelly, Class of 2007 and a member of our Board of Trustees, has been called as the Sixteenth Rector of Saint John's Episcopal Church and Parish Day School in Tampa, Florida. Connelly did his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina and then earned an M.B.A. at the Columbia Business School. After an eighteen-year career with Owens-Illinois, he spent fifteen years engaged in various entrepreneurial endeavors. As a layman he was involved in a wide variety of ministries in several Episcopal churches, including serving as a Vestryman and Senior Warden of Saint John's and as a Trustee of Saint John's School.

After graduating from General, he returned to Saint John's after being ordained by Bishop Dabney T. Smith of the Diocese of Southwest Florida in 2007. He served Saint John's as Associate Rector and Chaplain to the school from 2007 until 2013, when he was appointed the Bishop's Vicar and then Priest-in-Charge.
