A New Call for J. Carr Holland '76

The Rev. J. Carr Holland III (Class of 1976) is the new minister at the Siasconset Union Chapel, Siasconset, Massachusetts. He has previously served as Rector of Grace Church in Newark, St. Clement’s Church in Hawthorne, and St. Mark’s in Mendham, New Jersey. He has acted as the interim minister at St. Ambrose in Raleigh and St. Paul’s in Cary, North Carolina. Carr earned his B.A. in sociology at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro before receiving his M.Div. as well as a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from General.

The Siasconset Union Chapel was built in 1883 as an ecumenical “House of Worship” and has hosted Protestant and Roman Catholic services for many years since. Carr would like the Chapel “to be a significant spiritual resource, both for those who live on Nantucket and those who come here to restore and refresh their lives.”
