Invitation: The Role of Faith-Based Trauma Healing for Victims of Religious Persecution

All members of the GTS community are invited to participate in IGE’s Faith & International Affairs Conference Call Series: The Role of Faith-Based Trauma Healing for Victims of Religious Persecution. Please join us on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 EST for the Institute for Global Engagement’s Faith & International Affairs Conference Call on The Role of Faith-Based Trauma Healing for Victims of Religious Persecution. The call will feature leading expert Pat Miersma, SIL International Counseling Coordinator for fourteen globally assigned professional counselors on five continents. Her specialty as a Mental Health Nurse- Ethnic Clinical Specialist is in the area of crisis intervention and community based trauma recovery. She is a co-author of the widely translated (150 languages) book, Healing the Wounds of Trauma: How the Church Can Help. The call will be moderated by Christy Vines, IGE’s Executive Director for the Center on Women, Faith & Leadership and the Global Center of Excellence on Religion and Gender.
