St. Stephen of Hungary School, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is looking for a part-time Religion teacher for 7th and 8th grade for the 2014-2015 school year. Saint Stephen School is a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight award-winning Catholic school with a rich heritage of academic excellence. By nurturing each student's mind, body and spirit in the Franciscan tradition, Saint Stephen School prepares its students to be passionate leaders and self-confident lifelong learners. The position involves teaching 2 periods a day, from 8:30-10:02am, using the school’s chosen curriculum and textbook. A graduate degree in religion or education is not required, nor is a state teaching license required, but candidates do need to have an interest in the subject and in teaching middle school students. Whoever is hired will be required to attend a training workshop for working with children (similar to the Safe Church program). The school needs someone who can start immediately.
