The GTS Community is invited on Community Time on Tuesday, February 24th at 1:30 PM in Seabury Auditorium for a presentation by Chis Mills, the Area Director for Young Life Chelsea. Currently Young Life Chelsea has two ministries at Fulton Houses (one block away from GTS) - a ministry to High School students and a ministry to Middle School students. They have also partnered with a few local churches which run a third ministry to some local elementary students.Young Life Chelsea has a great network in place and many kids to serve but is in great need of volunteers. Come hear Chris Mills talk and consider offering your assistance as a volunteer! Middler MDiv student Tommie Watkins has led a successful tutoring program at Fulton Houses in the past, so there is potential for a joint effort.
Young Life Chelsea currently runs two Clubs, one on Monday night with Middle School kids and one on Thursday night to High School kids. Their Monday Night Club is where some local churches have partnered and run an additional Club for elementary aged kids at the same time. They like to think of our Clubs as a “party with a purpose," playing games, eating pizza, watching skits, laughing and then ending the night with the gospel proclamation. Kids come have a fun time and hear about Jesus and what He has done for them! Young Life Chelsea has about 50 kids a week involved with our Club, but is in great need of more leaders!
