Beyond the Close: Commission on the Status of Women opens at the UN

The United Nations Commission on Women, which meets annually, opens on March 9 for two weeks. Thousands of women from all over the world will descend on the UN and nearby venues, including many Anglican and Episcopal women. As the Episcopal Church is a registered Non-Government Organization (NGO) with the United Nations, our church will be sending delegations both from the Anglican Communion and the Episcopal Church to participate in this 20th year review of the 4th Women's World Conference in Beijing and the Beijing Platform for Action

With our Church Center's proximity to the UN, events will be held at 815 Second Ave. as well as the UN Church Center owned by the Methodists across from the UN itself.  There will be a kick off Eucharist on Monday, March 9 to which all are invited at 12:10pm in the 815 Chapel. Since that date coincides with our Spring break, all members of the GTS community are encouraged to attend!

Please contact Kim Robey (robey@gts.edu) if you have any questions about the Commission.
