Beyond the Close: A Conversation with Gustavo Gutiérrez

All members of the GTS Community are invited to a lecture entitled "The Imperative of Hope: Recovering the Prophetic in Christian Life Today: A Conversation with Gustavo Gutiérrez" on May 6th at 6 pm at Fordham University's Pope Auditorium, Lincoln Center Campus (113 W. 60th St.). The lecture is free and open to the public.

Join the founder of liberation theology, Gustavo Gutiérrez, and theologian Michael E. Lee as they explore the challenges of living a Christian life in the contemporary world, and reflect on the ongoing renewal of the Church in the era of Pope Francis. Gustavo Gutiérrez, O.P., is the John Cardinal O'Hara Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame and the author of A Theology of Liberation: History, Politics, Salvation, The Power of the Poor in History and several other foundational texts in liberation theology. Michael E. Lee is associate professor of theology at Fordham University and author of Bearing the Weight of Salvation: The Soteriology of Ignacio Ellacuría and a forthcoming book on the theology of Archbishop Oscar Romero.
