Spiritual direction is about companionship. In a Christian context, a spiritual director is someone who accompanies you as you explore your spirituality and grow in relationship with God. Spiritual direction can help you listen for the voice of God and live more fully into Christian faith. A spiritual director will invite you to reflect on your life in the light of faith, guide you in prayer and spiritual practices, co-listen with you in discerning God’s good purposes for you, and encourage your baptismal discipleship.
For the 2015–2016 academic year, The General Theological Seminary is blessed by the ministry of four spiritual directors who will offer one-on-one conversations with students, staff, faculty, family members, and residents at the Seminary. Whether you have met with a director in the past or are seeking spiritual direction for the first time, they are present and passionate about discerning with you how the Spirit is moving in your life.
