At a service on the evening of September 24, 2015, fourteen entering students at The General Theological Seminary signed the Matriculation Book, the same book signed by the first class in 1822 and every entering class since. As "St. Patrick's Breastplate" was played on the organ and sung by the congregation, each student processed to the front of the chapel as the GTS community witnessed his or her matriculation being recorded in the venerable book. After the service, the festive Matriculation reception and dinner was held, continuing a tradition of toasts, speeches, joyful recognition, and welcoming of the newest members of the GTS community. The joy of this great event was evident in the atmosphere and on the faces of the students as they joined the story of General Seminary.
