Bishop William Franklin to Preach at General Seminary on May 5

The Rt. Rev. R. William Franklin, Bishop of the Diocese of Western New York, will preach in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at The General Theological Seminary on the morning of Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Community Eucharist. Franklin is a former Professor of History and Modern Anglican Studies at General Seminary and former Dean of Berkley Divinity School at Yale. Franklin was elected Bishop on November 20, 2010 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Buffalo and was consecrated on April 30, 2011. He holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Church History from Harvard.

He served as Associate Priest at St. Paul’s Within the Walls in Rome and also as Associate Director of the American Academy in Rome, as a Fellow and Associate Priest of the Anglican Centre in Rome, and as Vicar of the Church of the Resurrection in Orvieto, Italy.
