Invitation to Appreciative Inquiry at St. Peter's

An invitation from The Reverend Stephen Harding: The General Seminary community is invited to participate in an Appreciative Inquiry of St. Peter's Church on June 4 and 18. The relationship between St. Peter's and the Seminary is a very deep one.  Representatives from General can provide a unique perspective on St. Peter's and help us refine our programs and outreach to our shared neighborhood.

  • I would like to invite you and as many from General as would like to join us for breakfast in the Church on Saturday, June 4 from 8 – 8:30am and then for a four hour assessment of St. Peter’s from your perspective.  We have titled our assessment The Key to St. Peter’s Chelsea and will use the process known as Appreciative Inquiry.   Appreciative Inquiry initially focuses on what is going well at St. Peter’s and then on what might be changed in light of our values and purpose.  Lunch will be provided in the Rectory after the Inquiry.
  • The second part of the Appreciative Inquiry will be held in St. Peter’s on Saturday, June 18 from 2-4pm, which is when the results will be shared. We will identify 1-3 action items, existing resources and resources we need to develop for the leadership of St. Peter’s to consider. A cookout in the garden will follow this meeting.

As you may know, our overall mission is to serve our neighborhood through our programs; to provide a space for ideas and cultural events; and to offer spiritual and religious instruction and services.  As part of our own Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiative to assess how and whether we are meeting your needs and the needs of our neighborhood, I am inviting you to represent your group, organization, or block, and participate in helping us improve our services to you and to our neighborhood.

We value your perspective.  For us to serve you and our neighborhood better, your voice and input are essential factors in helping us understand the needs of our Chelsea neighborhood so that we can respond to them.

To make sure we have enough food for you and a guest, please RSVP to office@stpeterschelsea.org or sign up on our event page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/1015497028540959/

Please call if you have questions, and thank you for being part of the life of St. Peter’s and for your participation in the Key to St. Peter's Chelsea.  The full list of invited organizations and individuals is provided below and I look forward to seeing you on June 4, if not sooner.

God bless you,

Stephen+
