The Rev. Richard Robÿn, Class of 2007, has been called as rector of St. Mary's-In-Tuxedo Episcopal Church in Tuxedo Park, N.Y. He has been serving as rector at Trinity Church Oxford in Philadelphia, and previously at Church of the Resurrection in Manhattan. While at General, Robÿn served his seminary internship at the Church of the Transfiguration, where he helped organize a mission trip to New Orleans to help in the Hurricane Katrina clean-up efforts. He was ordained to the priesthood at Transfiguration in 2008.
In the Diocese of Pennsylvania, Robÿn also served as vice-chair of Diocesan Council, as well as on the Commission on Ministry, and on the boards of Episcopal Community Services and the Philadelphia Protestant Home, and was active in his local interdenominational ministry.
Robÿn is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was first introduced to the Episcopal Church during his studies at Loyola University, New Orleans, while he earned a bachelor's degree in history. It was in visiting the homebound with the Holy Communion that Robÿn first felt the call to ordained ministry. He is married to Pete Datos, who is the chief supply chain officer for Warby Parker in New York City and Sloatsburg.
Robÿn joins a legacy of General alums who have served St. Mary’s-In-Tuxedo, including the Rev. James Leo ’62, the Rev. Ed Cromey ’62, the Rev. Dave Killeen ’04, and most recently, the Rev. Bruce Woodcock ’02.
