A New Call for Lauren Holder ‘14

The Rev. Lauren R. Holder, Class of 2014, has been called as Canon for Outreach and Congregational Life at the Cathedral of St. Philip, Atlanta, GA.

Holder presently serves as Associate Rector for Outreach at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Atlanta. Her ministry there has been distinguished by the coordination of outreach programs in the parish and connection with mission and justice organizations around the city of Atlanta.

Before her ministry at St. Luke’s, she was Priest and Senior Program Officer for Community Engagement at Trinity Church, Wall Street, in New York City.

Originally from Texas, Holder received a BA in politics and a concentration in environmental studies from Washington and Lee University. She received her MA in liberal arts from St. John’s College, Annapolis, Maryland, before travelling to Benin, West Africa to serve as a missionary for a year. From there, she served three more years as Youth Minister at Christ Episcopal Church, in Charlotte, North Carolina before matriculating at General.
