A New Call for Andrew Durbidge '14

The Rev. Canon Andrew Durbidge, Class of 2014, has been called as Priest-in-Charge at St. Luke and St. Matthew’s Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. Durbidge has been a priest in the Diocese of Long Island since 2015 when he was ordained at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City N.Y.  Originally from Sydney, Australia, Durbidge moved to New York in 2011 to study at General.  He was Chief Sacristan from 2012-2013 and graduated with a Master of Divinity and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction.

Prior to ordination, Durbidge was a chaplain resident at New York Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center and the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York. Prior to relocating to New York, he was the principal of DBL Property, a project management and real estate consultancy based in Sydney. With this experience, Durbidge became the Diocese’s Real Estate Manager, overseeing all large real property projects on behalf of the Diocesan Trustees. He is also Board Chair of Housing Development Finance Corporation developing 21 supportive housing apartments for the Ali Forney Center, the country’s largest LGBTQ housing and services provider.
