A New Call for James Reho ‘08

The Rev. Dr. James Reho, Class of 2008 and a former GTS Chaplain has been called as Fifth Rector of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Temple Terrace, Florida. Reho is currently serving at St. John's Church, Tampa, as Associate Rector and Chaplain to the School. He has previously served as Rector of Lamb of God Lutheran-Episcopal Church in Ft. Myers, on the staff at the Episcopal Cathedral in Miami, and at Palmer-Trinity Episcopal School where he was a member of the Religious Studies program and associate to the chaplain. 

Reho is a long-time student and practitioner of spiritual wisdom, and has been initiated into multiple spiritual lineages of both East and West. Before receiving his M.Div. from General and being ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church, he earned degrees in Asian Studies and Philosophy as well as Chemistry and Mathematics, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University.

Before the call to ordained ministry, Reho was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry at East Carolina University. A spiritual director and Yoga Alliance-certified yoga instructor, he leads retreats and workshops on yoga, meditation, and tantric practice in both religious and secular settings. Experienced in kirtan and interspirituality, his interests range from tantra to deep ecology to Celtic Christianity. He is the author of Tantric Jesus: The Erotic Heart of Early Christianity.  

Reho and his wife Lori, a Christian counselor will join the parish beginning February 1, 2022.
