IN MEMORIAM: John Anthony Greco ’67

The Venerable Canon John Anthony Greco, Class of 1967, a retired Archdeacon of the Diocese of Long Island and Honorary Canon of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City Long Island died on Holy Saturday, April 16, 2022, in New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City after a short illness at age 83 (just 3 days short of his birthday).   He was an active parishioner at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City where a funeral is scheduled for Friday, May 6th at 11am at St Bart’s, with the Rector, the Right Rev Dean Wolfe presiding. A funeral and burial service will take place on June 4 at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Bridgehampton, New York.

He served as Executive to Bishop Orris Walker of Long Island and previously as Rector of Saint Jude’s Church in Wantagh in Long Island. He was ordained by Bishop Jonathan Sherman of Long Island. He was a member of the Lotos Club and the Opera Club of NYC. He lived in Manhattan and Sag Harbor, New York.
