IN MEMORIAM: Cliff Geiger ’66

The Rev. Clifford T. Geiger, Class of 1966, died on March 18th aged 83 in Ashland, MA. He was born on January 17, 1940 in Syracuse, NY, the son of John Theodore and Mildred (Brantley) Geiger. He attended Davis and Elkins College, before matriculating at General. He married his college sweetheart, Anne Joyce in 1963, and they settled in Kennebunk, Maine. They celebrated 58 years of marriage.

After living in Kennebunk for 27 years, they moved to Stuart, FL where they lived until moving to Ashland in December of 2019 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Geiger’s professional career started in Falmouth, ME where he was an assistant priest before moving to his own parish in Kennebunk. He loved to cook, was an avid reader, and could often be found playing Bingo.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, David John Geiger. Surviving are his son Chris Geiger and his wife, Laurie, of Maynard and his daughter Elizabeth Govoni and her husband, Scottt, of Millis. In addition to his two children, Cliff is survived by six grandchildren, Christopher Foster and his wife Samantha, Thomas Geiger, Matthew Geiger, Katherine Govoni, Michael Govoni and Maria Govoni, and three great grandchildren.

A visitation was held at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA. on Saturday, April 1st at 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am.
