IN MEMORIAM: Gerard Alexander Pisani, Jr. ‘66

The Rev. Gerard Alexander Pisani, Jr., Class of 1966, died on March 13, 2021 at the age of 82.

Pisani served the Diocese of Newark as Vicar at St. Gabriel’s Milton/Oak Ridge (1966-1969) and Rector of Christ Church, Pompton (1969-1974), then finally as Rector of Trinity, Bayonne for 35 years (1974-2009) – their longest-serving Rector.

Under his leadership, the congregation of Trinity, Bayonne launched several community service projects which led to the incorporation of The Windmill Alliance in 1985. Pisani served as its Executive Director from 1999 to 2009.

Pisani also served on the diocesan Commission on Evangelism (class of 1976). In 2002 he authored a book, The Apparent Heresy of Jesus.

Pisani is survived by his life partner (for 52+ years) and husband (since 2013 when it became legal) Dwight Tintle; his sister Ruth Ehrman, husband Ed and their two children, niece Tina Milliken and husband Chris, and nephew Jason and wife Janet; his Aunt Joan Pisani; and many cousins.
