Bishop Payne and Keller Libraries Work Together

Everyone knows that access to library resources is key to a seminary education. So in January when we heard the news that the GTS Librarian, Melissa Chim, was taking a new position at Albany, we needed to sort out a plan to support the students and faculty at GTS. There are 17 courses being offered this semester, 7 Masters-level students completing a thesis, 14 completing their first year of low-residency studies, and several Doctoral students completing their course work and beginning their thesis work.

A key member of the Bishop Payne Library staff, Kathy Graham, offered to be present on site at Keller Library for the spring semester. With her deep background in library and IT work, and even deeper commitment to supporting excellence in theological education, she was eager to step into the breach during this season.

I’m grateful and glad that Kathy Graham will be serving as Acting Library Manager at Keller Library this spring. She will staff the building, along with GTS alumnus Kimberly Yates and student Neal Medlyn, so that the Keller Library can be open Mon, Wed, Fri 9 am – 5 pm and Tues, Thurs 9 am – 10 pm. GTS students and faculty can contact her for library assistance at library@gts.edu. In addition, she will provide GTS students and faculty with additional library resources through Bishop Payne Library and the rest of the staff there, as needed. I’m certain that the GTS community will welcome Kathy to the Close. You will be able to contact her at graham@gts.edu.
