Celebrating the Silver Years at GTS

On Friday, we shared the news that Mr. Jonathan Silver is stepping down as of June 30, 2023. I am delighted that we have another five months of his ministry at GTS. He is the keeper of the institutional memory; he is the servant of the Alumni Executive Committee; he is a gracious and fun colleague; and he is constantly looking out for the best for GTS.

He has already told me that he is not especially interested in special events to mark his eleven years of service at GTS. In fact, he said to me, “I think my preference is for folks to make a gift to the annual fund in recognition of my years here at GTS.” Naturally, I love that idea. However, we must acknowledge his tenure appropriately.

So, for those who are attending the Episcopal Parish Network at Jacksonville, there will be an opportunity to celebrate the Silver Years at GTS. I am hoping that Donna Ashley, who serves on the EPN Board will pop in. So, please do join us there in Jacksonville, FL. Meanwhile, do remember Jonathan is continuing to serve; we are blessed with a further five months of his ministry.
