First Eucharist and First Sermon

On Tuesday, GTS shares a Eucharist together. Yesterday, I had the privilege of offering my first Eucharist and first Sermon as the President of GTS. I was very conscious of the extraordinary nature of the Chapel. The extensive history of the space weighs heavily on this celebrant. Some extremely distinguished leaders of the Church had served at the altar and preached in that space. I was honored.

In addition, it was Holy Week. We are continuing the journey to the cross. The conflict between the authorities and our Lord is increasing. The triumphant ride into Jerusalem is provoking a significant response.

I am looking forward to being part of a rota going forward. The precise design of that rota needs some thought - with the emphasis being on residential weeks. But it is an incredible space to serve in.
