A New Call for Chris Craun ’06
The Rev. Christopher Craun, Class of 2006, has been called to join the Diocese of Oregon as Missioner for Thriving Congregations effective December 1, 2021. This new position combines the responsibilities of the transition officer with new responsibilities focused on serving congregations seeking new and innovative ways to express faith in community.
Craun has been serving as Rector and Co-Youth Leader of St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in Portland, Oregon. During her tenure with St. Michael & All Angels, she has worked with the congregation to become an Immigrant Welcoming Congregation, Sanctuary Church, and a Green Faith Certified Church. She also played an active role in their stewardship team, increasing pledge income by about 20% to allow for the addition of an associate clergy for the Spanish speaking service.
Craun has also served as the Metro East Convocation Dean, Managing Director of the Confirm not Conform - National Confirmation Program, and on the Commission on Ministry for the Ordained. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Certificate of Theological Studies with a focus on Professional Youth Ministry from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, and a Master of Divinity from General. In 2013, she was a Fellow at The Beatitudes Society, and in 2016 she earned her Certificate of Completion from the College for Congregational Development.
