Chris Keller III ’82 to preach on ‘Day 1’

The Rev. Dr. Christoph Keller III, Class of 1982, is the featured preacher Nov. 7, All Saints’ Sunday, on “Day 1” with host Peter Wallace, the nationally broadcast ecumenical radio program also accessible online at Day1.org and by podcast. The program includes interviews with Keller conducted by Wallace, who is also executive producer.

Keller recently retired as Dean and Rector of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, Ark. He previously served in parish ministry and as Canon Missioner of the Diocese of Arkansas. In 1991, he started St. Margaret’s Church in Little Rock. He is also the founder of SUMMA, a student theological debate society for high school students, now based at the Beecken Center at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. He has recently published a book Getting on Toward Home: And Other Sermons by the River, a collection of twelve homilies he has preached at funerals.

“For All the Saints,” Keller’s sermon for Nov. 7, is based on the vision of a new heaven and a new earth found in Revelation 21:1-6a. “What good are dreams as ground for theological discussion,” he says. “That is a very good question.”

Keller is a graduate of Amherst College and earned his M.Div. from the Episcopal Divinity School, before earning a Th.D. in Anglican studies from General, and he has also recently served as a member of our Board of Trustees.
