A New Ministry for Shana Kaplanov ’17

Shana Kaplanov, Class of 2017, is beginning a Chaplain Residency at Mt. Sinai's Hospital in the Upper East Side of New York City. 

Kaplanov has served in the Office of Development & Alum Relations at Union Theological Seminary since 2018 where she managed the Annual Fund for Union and EDS at Union. In this role she raised significant funding for student scholarships and Union's greatest needs while deepening relationships with both students and alums. She also received a certificate in Anglican Studies and Social Justice from EDS at Union. 

Before earning an MDiv from General Theological Seminary, Kaplanov worked for Episcopal Community Services in Philadelphia as a Volunteer and Parish Relations Manager. She also served as a Legislative Liaison for Governor Ted Strickland in Ohio with a focus on behavioral healthcare related public policy, and a Legislative Aide in Ohio's State Senate. She has a BA in European History from The Ohio State University.
